Sheffield IT support

One of the things that sets us apart is how much we have in common with many of our clients. That’s because our business is a local business; we’re proud to be based in South Yorkshire, and to provide local IT support exclusively for companies in our county. As a small, local business, the one-on-one service which we can deliver is second to none, and we have a natural understanding of the needs of the other small-to-medium-sized businesses we work with.

Barnsley IT support

Don’t take a chance on a distant IT company that only offers remote support! As Barnsley IT technicians, we’re never too far away. We work from a computer repair shop in the town, and we can provide on-site IT support for businesses, as required.

In a world often found spinning on the axis of digital connections, a UK-based initiative, buddi bench™, is offering an inspired antidote to loneliness and isolation: a park bench conversation.

The core offering of buddi bench™ is to populate local parks and pavements across the UK with beautifully crafted benches. A simple concept, a profound impact. These aren’t just any benches. They’re clearly marked as buddi benches™, an open invitation for any passerby familiar with the concept to sit down and share a chat for around ten minutes with the person already seated there.

buddi bench™ is a beacon of hope not just for the lonely, troubled, and isolated. It extends a warm welcome to everyone, irrespective of who they are or what their story might be. After all, everyone could use an unexpected friendly chat with a kind stranger, couldn’t they?

Buddi bench™ is more than just a physical initiative, they’ve turned to the digital space too, leveraging blogs, vlogs, newsletters, podcasts, a YouTube channel, and art. They aim to generate a broader reach and impact. A highlight for subscribers to their mailing list is Seth’s Weekly Words Of Wisdom (WWOW!). It’s a unique opportunity to look at the world through a slightly different lens, offering a potential uplift to one’s day, an intriguing win-win.

What is it that propels the buddi bench™ initiative forward? The team firmly believes in creative responses to human distress. The key, they say, lies in connection. The antidote to challenges facing individuals and society as a whole. This belief stems from the recognition of humans as pack animals, with an innate need for interaction with others for physical and emotional wellbeing.

The philosophy underpinning buddi bench™ steers clear of enumerating what’s wrong in our world, focusing instead on ideas and actions that help humans thrive. The initiative encourages creative, philosophical, and practical ways to connect with each other, aiming to alleviate emotional distress and unleash the true potential within each of us.

What are they trying to achieve? It’s ambitious and refreshingly candid. They hope to spark conversations between individuals who might never have crossed paths otherwise. They aspire to replace feelings of loneliness with a renewed sense of connection, to shift the fear of ‘stranger danger’ to the warm recognition that a stranger is just someone we haven’t yet met.

More than anything, buddi bench™ seeks to remind us of our shared humanity, echoing the sentiment that there is no ‘us and them,’ only ‘us.’ With a mission to disseminate media online and offline, they aim to bring out the best in us all and cultivate a more friendly, inclusive, understanding, and compassionate society.

buddi bench™ might be a novel concept, but it speaks to an age-old human need: the need to connect. It shows that sometimes, a seat on a park bench isn’t just a place to rest your feet; it could be a chance to restore your spirit. It reminds us that in an increasingly fragmented world, a simple chat with a stranger can offer a surprisingly profound connection. https://buddibench.org

Colombian coffee in London

WHO IS MR. TINTO?
A WORD FROM OUR FOUNDER
IN COLOMBIA, WE CALL BLACK FILTERED COFFEE A “TINTO,” AND THE SELLER IS “EL SEÑOR DE LOS TINTOS” WHICH TRANSLATES INTO ENGLISH AS “MR. TINTO.”
When I started this business, this is exactly what I was: just a man selling Colombian coffee on a bicycle outside the back entrance of London’s East Croydon Station.

The one thing you need to know about Colombians is that we love our tinto, and it plays an essential role in our daily routines. It is the first thing we do upon waking up, it accompanies our meals and helps us through a long day of work. No matter the time of day, it is always a perfect time for a cup of tinto.

I chose this name to pay homage to the community that raised me and taught me that a cup of coffee is more than an energising drink one grabs on their way to work. It’s about life-long traditions passed down from generation to generation. It’s also about the farmers who handpick it to support their families. It’s about its origins, that are often bitter and tainted by pollution, wasteful packaging, rainforest destruction, and human exploitation.

Mr. Tinto aims to change this narrative by exclusively importing coffee in small batches directly from family-owned coffee farms in Colombia, ensuring traceability, accessibility, and fair trade. We keep our carbon footprint low, our prices fair, and our quality high. When you buy from us, you can rest assured that the farmers who handpicked your fresh beans are paid fairly, and the environment has not been harmed in any way.

Since our inception in 2017, Mr. Tinto’s ethos has always been to make and serve first-class coffee accessible to customers who care about what goes into their cups. We’re proud to be a local company trying to make a difference. We go above and beyond to educate our customers with knowledge and transparency regarding the farms and conditions our tinto is grown in.

Here’s to great coffee with a conscience!

Thank you,

Francisco, South London’s Mr. Tinto Colombian coffee in London
